Time flies like a white horse flashing through a crack—100 years have passed in the blink of an eye. A century ago, the May Fourth Movement sounded the first clarion call to battle and was the very first to raise the banner of advanced culture high over the land of China! The torch of the “patriotism, progress, democracy, and science” embodied by the May Fourth Movement has been passed on from generation to generation among Chinese sons and daughters, striding forward boldly on the path of the new century. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement, our company held a “Poetry Recitation Contest Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the May Fourth Movement” on May 8, 2019. Eleven contestants passionately recited classic works, fervently celebrating the spirit of the May Fourth Movement. The reciters were filled with enthusiasm, and the audience at the scene was equally stirred with fervor. Although a century has passed, the spirit of the May Fourth Movement continues to radiate its astonishing power, guiding us ever onward. From countless ordinary posts to each and every one of us—ordinary individuals—our small yet cumulative efforts, step by step, steadily propel us forward, weaving together into mighty rivers that will write countless new chapters for China and forge an infinitely bright future for our nation.
